Goring and Streatley Bridge

The villages of Goring and Streatley on opposite sides of the river, within an area of outstanding natural beauty are steeped in history. In addition to the attractive riverside scenery, the Swan at Streatley serves as the perfect base for many places of interest including Oxford and the Cotswolds, and London is less than an hour by train.

Goring in South Oxfordshire, with a residential population of 3500 is served by an excellent range of boutique shops, restaurants, pubs and other services.

Its rail link means that many who work in London, Reading or other big cities can easily escape to the pleasures of country living. It won village of the year for the South of England 2009 - 2010.

The Swan at Streatley

Streatley the smaller of the two villages and home of The Swan at Streatley, in West Berkshire has a population of 600, before the bridge was built in 1837 the two villages had very little contact.

Today, the two villages work together as one community, organising and sharing in local amenities and activities, and cooperating in the preservation of their joint heritage.
